President Clinton's Articles of Impeachment
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/special/clinton/stories/articles122098.htm These are the impeachment charges brought against President Clinton by Congress. Note that Congress did not consider adultery a crime but did condemn him for perjury. First off, this showed that a President does not need to be involved in a giant scandal (like Nixon) to be impeached. It also shows how far American morals had slipped because past Congress' likely would have added adultery to the charges. JM |
Political Cartoonhttp://www.2951clss-gulfwar.com/cartoons/cartoons-4.gif
This is a political cartoon from Operation Desert Storm. It depicts Saddam Hussein claiming theat he'll "never surrender". The cartoon shows the widely-held sentiment that the U.S. should have removed him from power then instead of having to go back and do it after 9/11. RG |
